Listening Mothers is a small group program that provides unique support and information to mothers of babies up to one year old. Listening Mothers groups include up to 7 mothers and their babies and meet once a week for a period of eight weeks. Each group meeting is 90 minutes long. This program is to train facilitators-group leaders for Listening Mothers groups. The goal of Listening Mothers is to enhance a healthy and secure relationship between mother and baby with concentration on emotional interaction.

1. Psychotherapy 2b: Infant Observation
This one year course consists of three parts:
- Observation of an infant with her mother, for one hour weekly from birth to one year old
- Detailed write up of the observation
- Weekly ninety minute seminar meetings to discuss observations

2. Psychotherapy 3c: Working Analytically with Parents & Infants
only "Introduction to Working Analytically" is required to this program |
3. A three hour seminar to learn the Listening Mothers curriculum
( Seminar conducted by Yaffa Maritz, Listening Mothers’ Clinical Director).
During this seminar, you will go step by step over the material used in groups, you will discuss group facilitation and how to keep a balance between content and process in the group. There is no fee for this part of the training.

4. Internship
You will then co-lead a Listening Mothers group with an experienced facilitator before starting your own group.
